How to Merge PDF Files Locally, for Free (No Watermark)
Combine multiple PDFs into one document without uploading, installing anything, or hitting a page limit.
PDFMerge
Merging PDFs is the most common PDF task after "PDF to Word." Whether you're combining a signed contract with its exhibits, bundling receipts for expense reports, or stitching together scanned pages, you shouldn't have to install Acrobat or upload confidential documents.
The problem with most "free" mergers
Free PDF merger sites tend to have at least one of these limits:
- 3-file cap unless you pay
- 100-page limit per file
- Watermark on the output
- Mandatory account signup after the first merge
- Upload required — your PDFs sit on their server
Merge PDFs in your browser
SwiftConvert's Merge PDF tool works differently:
- Open the merge page.
- Add as many PDFs as you want. There's no file-count cap.
- Drag to reorder — the first file's pages come first in the output.
- Click "Merge" and download the combined PDF.
Everything happens on your device using the pdf-lib WebAssembly engine. Your files never upload.
Tips
- Same page size? If your PDFs mix Letter and A4, the output keeps each source page at its original size. Word's "print to fit" won't rescale them.
- Encrypted PDFs. If a PDF has an owner password, you'll need to remove it first. User passwords (which prompt on open) are supported.
- Large batches. Merging 50+ files works but takes memory. If your laptop struggles, merge in chunks of 20.
Free means free
- No signup
- No email
- No watermark
- No file-count or page-count cap
- Nothing uploaded
Merge as many PDFs as you want, as often as you want.
